**This position can be filled in either our Hartford, CT or St. Paul, MN location. Summary:
The Identity & Access Management (IAM) team is seeking an experienced and motivated software engineer/developer. The IAM team has responsibility for delivering enterprise identity management and web access management solutions for Travelers. This position is available to recent college graduates as well as experienced IT professionals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong software development background, client and server infrastructure knowledge, knowledge of the software release lifecycle, and a strong understanding of multi-tiered applications and relational databases.
Qualified Candidates will possess the following:
* BS/BA degree required (CS or MIS degree) or equivalent * Familiarity in identity provisioning, authentication, and authorization, and web access management concepts * Familiarity with LDAP based directories * Experience with Java, .NET programming, and XML. * Experience/Understanding of Linux and Windows based operating systems. * Experience/Understanding of application server technologies (JBoss, Tomcat, Websphere) * Familiarity with distributed databases (SQL, Oracle) * Analysis and troubleshooting skills
Responsibilities of position:
* Involvement in all phases of the development lifecycle, from business specifications, to design and analysis, to development, to testing and implementation. * Assisting in the remediation of application stability and performance. * Working with other IT areas within Travelers on development and production support of enterprise application components and utilities. * Strong ability to multi-task in an environment of changing priorities. * The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, as well as a strong work ethic and positive attitude

Identifies those project tasks that are most important and maintains a clear sense of priorities and the larger picture. Anticipates and effectively responds to changes in workload and resource. Works with management to provide input to the planning process.
