COO, Long / Short Equity Hedge Fund
Start-Up global long/short equity hedge fund with a focus on the tech, media and telecoms sectors, seeks an entrepreneur (MBA a +) with 3-5 years Hedge Fund Finance and Operations experience, with the ability to build infrastructure to enable the successful launch and rapid growth of the fund. Previous experience in a Hedge Fund a big plus. This is a role with huge upside potential with a view to becoming the COO/ CFO.
- You will be the liaison to all key shareholders, providing support to clients and service providers, including legal counsel, administrators, prime brokers and auditors.
- Reponsible for NAV accounting and daily reconciliations in relation to trades and portfolio balances.
- Assist the Portfolio Manager in the research process.
- Work directly with the founder of the firm building the financial and operational infrastructure to launch the fund - Direct path from this role to becoming COO or Head of Research.

Requirements
- 3-5 years of work finance experience in hedge fund, investment management, buy-side finance, or top-tier consulting role.
- Understanding of Trading and long/ short equity funds.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg. Ability to understand formulas/coding in Excel related to NAV calculations and fund performance tracking.
- Experience and understanding of the key challenges in a start-up or rapid growth hedge fund environment.
– Accounting, Trading, Research and Fundraising. Experience with rediPlus software a plus.- Advanced knowledge of Excel is a must.
- Desire to work hard in organization priding itself on creativity and intensity. Demonstrated attention to detail, production of professional quality work.
- Ability multi-task effectively and work across many different platforms. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Highly motivated and well organized
