Job Description:
The Jr. Application System Administrator provides support and expertise to the delivery organization. The position provides the day-to-day support for one or more products or applications that are deployed to the SDO Production environment. The primary responsibility Jr. Application System Administrator is to ensure the availability of an application or product for end users.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
? Provide Outage Resolution Support. This includes investigation of outage cause, impact on user, and resolution ? Provide and Maintain Application Availability. This includes ensuring that the application is active and operating as defined in any Service Level Agreements ? Monitor Application in Production Environment. This includes the periodic monitoring of servers, applications, etc. through the use of manual and automated means ? Facilitate outage investigation/restoration of service to Production Environment. Organize any conference call, meetings, etc. needed to facilitate the investigation of Production outages/problems and the subsequent restoration of service ? Schedule and track application software updates in Production Environment. Use the current Change Management Process and tool to create and distribute work orders associated with application software updates. Ensure that software distribution work orders are successfully completed. Periodically audit Production servers to ensure the currency of software loads
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
? 6+ months of application support and administration ? 6+ months of software development and testing ? Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Tech. or equivalent schooling and/or experience in lieu of education.
Preferred Skill Requirements:
? Knowledge and experience with Java and/or C++ Programming Languages ? Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and/or SharePoint (2003 or MOSS 2007) ? Knowledge and experience in Basic Windows 2003 Server Administration ? Knowledge in networking concepts and technologies. ? Knowledge and experience with PLM (Siemens PLM Teamcenter (preferred), Agile, PTC Windchill, Matrix One, Eigner, Dassault, Optiva, etc.) or other packaged software solution capabilities (CRM, ERP, etc.) ? Knowledge and experience with DOS Batch scripting, VBScript, WSH a plus ? Knowledge of development, desktop and server admin tools a plusStrong written and oral communication skills and presentation skills. ? Strong analytical skills, problem recognition and problem solving / issue resolution skills along with coordination skills.
